The story of the Hyundai Group began as a dream in the small Korean city of Asan. While shaping its future, Chung Juyung made it his principle to create value first in his own country and then everywhere he reached, establishing Hyundai in history through dedicated teamwork.

Welcome to the Heritage Exhibition—where Hyundai’s story unfolds as more than a timeline of vehicles. It is a journey rooted in resilience, innovation, and a profound bond between two nations.
Our legacy began not just in a workshop, but in a dream. From the ashes of war, Hyundai’s founder Chung Ju-yung envisioned rebuilding Korea through industry and determination. With the creation of Korea’s first original vehicle—the Pony—we took our first bold step onto the global stage.

The connection between Türkiye and Korea is deeply woven into this history. Nearly 15,000 Turkish soldiers served in the Korean War, standing in defence of freedom. Among them, touching stories of friendship emerged. These moments became symbols of a lasting brotherhood.

The spirit of collaboration blossomed once more in the late 1980s, when Hyundai and Türkiye’s Kibar Holding began a historic partnership.

This alliance led to the establishment of the Hyundai Assan factory in İzmit in 1997—Hyundai’s longest-serving overseas production plant. It was here that the first locally assembled Accent rolled off the line, marking the beginning of a new chapter.

Today, with its new name, Hyundai Motor Türkiye Otomotiv continues to shape the future with innovative models and forward-looking investments. As we look ahead to electrification and sustainability, our journey—fueled by shared dreams and global unity—presses on with purpose.
