2014
Hyundai i20 WRC

The 2014 Hyundai i20 WRC was completed in just 12 months. Built at the Alzenau base to meet FIA regulations, the car covered 8,000 km of testing between May 2013 and the first WRC rally in January 2014. That season brought the team’s first podium in Mexico and their first-ever victory with a 1-2 finish in Germany.

Hyundai i20 WRC

In its second year, the i20 WRC continued to evolve. An engine joker was introduced at Rally Mexico for more power, while paddle shifters were added to improve consistency. The main goal was not only to compete in the WRC but also to keep developing the existing car.

2016
New Generation i20 WRC

With pace and durability in focus, the New Generation i20 WRC delivered quick results: podiums in Monte-Carlo and Sweden, followed by wins in Argentina and Sardinia. With 2 victories and 12 podiums overall, the NG i20 WRC secured second place in the Manufacturers’ Championship.

2017
Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC

The third car in four seasons, the i20 Coupe WRC, was built to meet the new 2017 WRC technical rules. It featured more power, reduced weight, and the return of an active center differential. The car led rallies right from the start, scoring 12 podiums and 91 stage wins that year.

2018
Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC

Technical regulations remained stable in 2018, but the focus shifted to improving tarmac performance. The i20 Coupe WRC stayed competitive in one of the closest WRC seasons, with wins in Sweden, Portugal, and Sardinia.

2019
Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC

In its sixth WRC season and third with the i20 Coupe, a heavy development program paid off. Wins came on gravel (Argentina, Sardinia), tarmac (Corsica), and mixed surfaces (Spain). Hyundai claimed its first Manufacturers’ Championship, making 2019 the most successful year to date.

2020
Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC

The goal for 2020 was to defend the title. Despite a season disrupted by the pandemic, the i20 Coupe WRC still won in Monte-Carlo, Estonia, and Italy. Hyundai secured the Manufacturers’ Champion crown for a second straight year.

2021

The eighth WRC season turned into one of the most consistent, delivering a record points tally. As the farewell year for the i20 Coupe WRC before the new hybrid era, the team earned 3 wins, 17 podiums, and 462 points.

2022
Hyundai i20 N WRC Rally1

2022 marked the start of the hybrid era and WRC’s 50th season. With new hybrid rules in place, the i20 N Rally1 proved its strength, achieving 5 wins, 15 podiums, and 455 points—laying a solid foundation for the future.

In 2023, the i20 N Rally1 Hybrid once again showcased hybrid power. The car reached the podium in all but one rally, finishing second in the Manufacturers’ Championship for the second year in a row, with 2 wins, 15 podiums, and 432 points.

2024
Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid

The final year for the i20 N Rally1 Hybrid featured its most advanced version yet. With largely unchanged technical specs, the car delivered its best season ever: 5 wins, 15 podiums, 558 points, and two championship titles.

2025
Hyundai i20 N Rally1

Regulation changes in 2025 mark the end of the hybrid era and the next step for the Rally1 Challenger. All Rally1 cars, including the i20 N Rally1, will continue running on 100% sustainable fuel as the team targets new victories.
