Hyundai and Healthy Seas are expanding their global partnership for the protection of marine ecosystems through new initiatives launched in Türkiye.
The program, held at Hyundai Motor Türkiye’s manufacturing facility in İzmit and along the Black Sea coast, brought together Hyundai Motor Türkiye employees and university students. More than 50 participants took part in a series of activities, including a factory tour, sustainability and corporate social responsibility presentations, and a beach cleanup event.
Participants learned about Hyundai Motor Türkiye’s environmental and educational initiatives, while Healthy Seas experts shared insights into marine conservation efforts and the importance of protecting ocean ecosystems. The program also included students benefiting from Hyundai Motor Türkiye’s scholarship program conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV).
During the beach cleanup on the Black Sea coast, participants collected approximately 40 kilograms of waste. The activity helped raise awareness about the impact of marine litter on coastal ecosystems and marine life, while highlighting the importance of collective action in protecting the environment.
Since the start of the partnership between Hyundai Motor Company and Healthy Seas in 2021, a total of 320.9 tons of marine litter has been removed across 10 countries. Through educational and awareness-raising programs, the initiative has also reached more than 4,861 people.
Aligned with Hyundai’s vision of “Progress for Humanity,” the initiative demonstrates how strong partnerships focused on environmental protection, education, and social responsibility can create measurable and lasting positive impact for future generations.
