- Hyundai Motor Türkiye has donated search and rescue, as well as emergency response equipment, to the Kocaeli Fire Department.
- The handover ceremony, held at the Kocaeli Fire Department, was attended by Hyundai Motor Türkiye Administration General Manager Barbaros Yıldırım and Kocaeli Fire Department Head Ömer İslamoğlu.
Hyundai Motor Türkiye (HMTR), which has been producing vehicles in İzmit for nearly 30 years, continues to strengthen its ties with local stakeholders. Supporting the Kocaeli Fire Department with donations for almost a decade in the areas of safety and disaster response, HMTR has now delivered new equipment at a dedicated ceremony. As part of this contribution, the fire department has received two hydraulic sets capable of lifting obstacles weighing up to four tons, opening doors during fires, and operating safely at temperatures up to +120 degrees. Additionally, one rescue air cushion and eight portable hand-held projectors have been provided to support emergency operations.
Commenting on the donation, Hyundai Motor Türkiye Administration General Manager Barbaros Yıldırım, "Unfortunately, we have all witnessed the importance of firefighting and search and rescue efforts through tragic experiences in the recent past. These experiences have once again reminded us of how crucial it is for institutions and teams to be well-equipped. We are delighted to continue strengthening our bond with the Kocaeli Fire Department this year. We view every contribution we make as a social responsibility toward our community."
Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department Head Ömer İslamoğlu added: "As the Kocaeli Fire Department, support from the private sector carries significant meaning for us. We extend our sincere gratitude to Hyundai Motor Türkiye for this valuable donation, which will be instrumental particularly in responding to traffic accidents and conducting post-disaster search and rescue operations.
